Wintergreen & Wildwood

Posted by Jami Brynildson on

Things have been super buzzy at the shop. Sorry I haven't been able to post last week's KAL project until now. It's a great little project that you can knit up in an evening: the Wintergreen Warmer.

Stephanie Colvig designed this cozy headband using an intriguing stitch pattern and just one skein of a decadent baby llama yarn, Mirasol Miski. Wintergreen is a great opportunity to showcase a few special buttons. Raid your button jar, or come in and let us help you find the perfect match. The pattern is currently free at the Bee, but we've had a lot of requests from our Facebook fans, so I'll try to get it posted in our Patterns section in the next couple of days. (I did manage to get a text-only pdf of the Santa Baby Cable Handwarmers pattern posted.)

And that brings us to Week 10 ... a super slouchy hat inspired by one of Portland's most popular trails for hiking and running: Wildwood.

Designed by Trish Mitberg, Wildwood features a fun to knit leaf motif (or is it a trio of tiny trees?). The silky soft Madelinetosh Tosh DK provides wonderful stitch definition, and the hand-dyed colors are soooo pretty. The free pattern is available at the Bee, and we'll have Tosh DK available at 10% off through next Thursday.

Stay warm, and try to sneak in a little knitting everyday. xo Jami
