Skibowl Hat

Posted by Jami Brynildson on

Welcome to our Week #4 project, a colorfully cozy hat embellished with braided ties and a fluffy ready-made pom pom. Steffanie Colvig designed Skibowl using one skein of a super bulky, self-striping yarn called Katia Junior. It's written in two sizes (child and adult) and knits up really quickly in the round on size #17 needles.

Stop by the shop and pick up the pattern for free with any purchase, and save 10% on Katia Junior through next Thursday (both in-store and online when you use the code SKIBOWL). You can also purchase the pattern as a PDF download on ravelry.

Don't forget to send us a pic of your finished project in any Knitting Bee yarn, or post one on ravelry in the Knitting Bee Hive. New: You can also post pics on instagram with the hashtag #12weeksofgifts. You want to win a gift certificate, don't you?!

For those of you not from the northwest, Skibowl is one of the oldest remaining ski resorts in the country and is located just 60 miles outside Portland on scenic Mt. Hood. It's a winter favorite for night skiing, snowboarding, and tubing (all while wearing cute handknit hats, of course!).
