I've been crushing on Melanie Berg's fresh & modern wrap designs for quite some time. So when our newest staff member Kelly C. started gushing about the Drachenfels shawl she was working on, I knew it would be my next project. Turns out a couple other waggledancers around the shop also wanted to knit Drachenfels, one thing led to another and a knit-along was born!
Here's what you’ll need: Three different colors of fingering or sport weight yarn, about 350 yds each. We have oodles of wonderful yarn choices in stock including Tosh Merino Light, Black Trillium Fibres Lilt, Anzula Dreamy or Cloud, and Malabrigo Mechita or Sock. Or if you'd like something lighter, the 100% silk Kinu would be super elegant. If you need a little inspiration, check out this ravelry project gallery of "most favorites." So many beautiful examples of different ways to mix and match and contrast the colors, it's hard to go wrong.
In addition to yarn you'll need your own copy of the Drachenfels pattern. Since we're part of ravelry’s In-Store Pattern Sales program you can purchase your pattern download at the Bee when you get your yarn. This great program supports both your fave LYS and indie designers ... How cool is that?!
We'd love to see you at our Cast-on Party this Wednesday, May 6 at Knit & Crochet Night from 6pm-8:30pm. We’ll continue to meet Wednesday evenings and share our progress on ravelry and instagram (use the tag #buzzedonyarn). So are you in? Let's knit together!
