Big Brio Slouch

Posted by Jami Brynildson on

How can it be week four of our KAL already? And for that matter, how can it be November? Things have definitely been getting buzzier at the Bee. Everyone seems to have caught a mild case of "startitis"!

Here's a quick and rewarding project that can be completed in just a few hours, the Big Brio Slouch:

This funky, chunky hat uses an easy "knit one below" method of working brioche ribbing in the round that I'm completely in love with at the moment. If you're new to the technique, I've included some helpful notes on the pattern. Because Big Brio uses such a bulky yarn, it's much easier to read your stitches and see what you're doing. The model hats are knit up in Schachenmayr Bravo Big and Lumio, both of which are 10% off (in-store only) now through next Thursday. Let's KAL, baby!

  • Hi Shara & Kittywonka – Wow!!! Our first blog comments!!! I have made the pattern available as a free ravelry download. If you are on ravelry you can find it here: Enjoy, and thanks for reading.

  • I’m no where near Oregon, but I’d love to knit this hat! Is the pattern available anywhere? Lovely! Thanks from Helsinki x
