Teddy Bear Sweater & Cap Drive ~ 2019

Knitting Bee is collecting knit or crocheted sweaters & caps to dress teddy bears headed to Oregon’s Camp Erin, a fun overnight camp combined with emotional support and grief education for kids age 6 – 17 who have lost a loved one. This is the 14th year we’ve partnered with Providence Hospice and Camp Erin, and the number of children attending the free summer camp has almost tripled over that time. This year we’ve been asked to outfit 100 comfort bears, so we need your help!

For every teddy bear outfit you make you can enter to win one of three $50 Knitting Bee Gift Cards. Winners will be drawn at our Anniversary Party on Sunday, July 21st (you don't need to be present to win). Bear outfits should include both a sweater and a hat or headband. Creativity is encouraged, but the important thing is for the dressed bears to be cuddly. Bears are available for checkout if you would like to custom fit your outfit.

Please note: This year the majority of the donated teddy bears are smaller, so if you follow The Bear's Clothes pattern we recommend using DK-weight yarn and US size #4-5 & #6 needles. New bears are provided by Providence Hospice. We will accept donations of new bears only.

Collection Deadline: Sunday, July 21st

Thank you for helping us make a difference in the lives of children in our community!
