This soft and springy 2-ply laceweight yarn is made from the fleece of Rambouillet sheep from Wyoming that can trace their lineage to medieval France, where this offshoot of merino was prized as the king of breeds. You'll want to use Vale for heirloom shawls and wraps, or hold multiple strands together to create marled or ombre effects.
Sheep to skein, all Brooklyn Tweed yarns are 100% made in the USA. After beginning life in Wyoming, the wool for Vale is scoured and combed in South Carolina, then travels to Maine where it's worsted-spun by Jagger Brothers into a polished yarn with even weight and twist, then dyed at an organically certified dye house.
